Duration: 3 months plus

Hourly Rate: Up to £20 ph umbrella (or PAYE equivalent)

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time

Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking a reliable and experienced Band 5 Dispensary Pharmacy Technician to join a busy NHS hospital pharmacy service in South Yorkshire. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of safe, efficient, and high‑quality dispensary services within a well‑established hospital environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the accurate supply of medicines, supporting clinical teams, and maintaining high standards of patient‑centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, accurate, and efficient dispensary services.
  • Support clinical screening and accuracy checking processes where required.
  • Deliver high‑quality medicines information and support to patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and wider MDT colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, professional, and organisational standards.
  • Contribute to audits, service development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold robust governance practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Previous NHS hospital experience (essential).
  • Strong understanding of dispensary processes and medicines legislation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive, patient‑focused, and professional approach.
