Apply for the Arts Therapist (Art, Music, Drama, DMP) Adult Inpatient
Location: London
Job Description:

This is an exciting time to join our Arts Psychotherapies service in Tower Hamlets as we continue to develop and strengthen our inpatient provision. Located within one of London’s most diverse boroughs, our services work closely with local communities to provide accessible, inclusive and culturally responsive care. We are seeking a motivated Band 6 Arts Psychotherapists (Art, Music, Drama or Dance Movement) to work with adults with complex mental health need across our adult acute and PICU wards based at Tower Hamlets Centre for Mental Health, Mile End Hospital. The roles involve delivering individual and group interventions, working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to ongoing service development and improving access to Arts Psychotherapies.

In order to attend core meetings, the post holder will be required to work on Wednesday mornings. The postholder will provide Arts Therapy assessment and intervention (individual and group) for adults with complex and acute mental health needs within inpatient services. This includes managing a caseload, delivering recovery-focused interventions, and supporting service users through periods of crisis and stabilisation. You will work as part of the ward multidisciplinary team, contributing to care planning, risk assessment, ward rounds and discharge planning, while maintaining clear and timely clinical documentation. The role requires creating and maintaining a safe, containing therapeutic environment on the ward, facilitating engagement in group work, and adapting interventions to meet the diverse cultural and clinical needs of the inpatient population. The postholder will also contribute to service development, quality improvement and collaborative working to support effective care pathways and positive patient experience.
