Nursery: Children 1st Sheffield Nursery School, Scotland Street, Sheffield S3 7BS.
Hours: Casual, variable hours, Monday‑Friday, Full Time and Part Time.
Salary: £12.90 per hour to £13.30 per hour (salary will depend on qualifications and experience).
Qualification: Must hold a Level 2 or above in Childcare.
We’re Louise and Deborah, the Nursery Managers at Sheffield Nursery.

How you’ll spend your time here
You’ll be helping to providecover for the children asand when needed. This could befor periods of holiday, sickness, or evenvacancy gaps. Sometimes you’ll support forafull day, or it may just be amorning or afternoon session. You’ll likely start most of yourdays with afully formulated plan…. That will soonget completely derailed though… Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care!
Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows forhands onarts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course we work within theEYFS standards, but that doesn’t stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.
What you’ll need
- A full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years. (We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, as long as they demonstrate the necessary qualities, values and enthusiasm for working within this environment. If you think you’ve got the right attitude and abilities, submit an application, who knows it might be the best thing you ever did. Nothing ventured nothing gained!)
- Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5, is advantageous.
- Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable.
