About the Role
There is an exciting opportunity to join the Cardiac Physiology Team at NHS Forth Valley. We are looking for an additional Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join our friendly and experienced team.
The service has eleven consultants with clinical expertise in Cardiac Rhythm Management, EP, Heart Failure and Cardiac imaging including CT. The Cardiac Investigations department provides routine diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiography, holter monitors, event recorders, ambulatory monitoring analysis, exercise tolerance tests and implantable loop clinics. The echocardiography service currently provides TTE, TOE, stress and contrast studies.
The successful applicant will be part of the echocardiography team, supporting the analysis and exercise tolerance team, and will contribute to Arrhythmia and Echo MDTs while supporting ongoing training.
Forth Valley Royal Hospital is a new, modern district general hospital situated in the Scottish central belt with easy access to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the echocardiography team in patient assessment and diagnostic procedures.
- Assist with analysis and exercise tolerance testing.
- Participate in Arrhythmia and Echo MDTs and support ongoing training for the team.
Qualifications
- BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
- HCPC registration as a clinical scientist or AHCS practitioner/RCCP registration.
- ILS certification.
- Annex 21 position under the Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
Additional Information
- Applicant must be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
- From 1 April 2026, the full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours; part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata but the hourly rate will increase to maintain pay.
