Job Summary
The Pharmacy Department at Furness General Hospital seeks enthusiastic, well‐motivated individuals for full‑time or part‑time positions. The role involves ordering and dispensing medications for in‑patients and those being discharged, working in the main dispensary and on wards. Collaboration within a team and independent work are required.
Responsibilities
- Order and dispense medications for in‑patients and discharged patients.
- Work in the main dispensary and on wards.
- Contribute to medication safety and quality assurance.
- Support pharmacy team and other professional staff.
Requirements
- Previous pharmacy experience and an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or another recognised dispensing qualification.
- Competent IT skills and basic education including English and Maths to GCSE level.
- Band 3 grade upon completion of the NVQ Level 2 qualification; Band 2 grade will be offered to candidates who start at Band 3 without the qualification.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30, with weekend and Bank Holiday work as part of a rotation. Part‑time hours may be considered if full days are worked.
Locations
Positions are available across Furness General Hospital (Barrow), Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), Westmorland General Hospital (Kendal), and community premises including Millom Hospital, GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital (Morecambe) and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
