Superflex Roadside Mechanic

Role Overview

As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic at RAC, you will provide adaptable roadside support across a wide range of call‑outs. You work a flexible 40‑hour roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, with 7‑day roster notice and core hours confirmed 3 days in advance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair light vehicle faults, including engine, electrical, and other systems.
• Respond to roadside emergencies such as flat tyres, battery failures, and other urgent issues.
• Manage your own kit, keep the van stocked, and prepare accurate reports.
• Exercise sound judgement to determine the best course of action for each call‑out.
• Maintain a customer‑focused approach while representing the RAC brand.
• Travel across the service area, including overnight stays when required.

Qualifications

• Level2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated technical and diagnostic experience in light vehicle maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication skills and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a dynamic environment.
