Role Overview
As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic at RAC, you will provide adaptable roadside support across a wide range of call‑outs. You work a flexible 40‑hour roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, with 7‑day roster notice and core hours confirmed 3 days in advance.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair light vehicle faults, including engine, electrical, and other systems.
- Respond to roadside emergencies such as flat tyres, battery failures, and other urgent issues.
- Manage your own kit, keep the van stocked, and prepare accurate reports.
- Exercise sound judgement to determine the best course of action for each call‑out.
- Maintain a customer‑focused approach while representing the RAC brand.
- Travel across the service area, including overnight stays when required.
Qualifications
- Level2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated technical and diagnostic experience in light vehicle maintenance.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication skills and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a dynamic environment.
