The Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Fitter to join our dynamic team. As a vital member of our maintenance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our fleet of plant operates at peak performance and adheres to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various types of plant
- Diagnose faults and implement corrective measures
- Perform routine checks and scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure longevity of equipment
- Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimise downtime
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts utilised
- Provide technical support and advice to the team and clients when necessary
- Participate in continuous training and development to keep up with industry standards and technological advancements
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications such as an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (HGV Maintenance, Agricultural Maintenance)
- Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic or similar role
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems preferred
- Familiarity with health and safety standards and a commitment to applying safety practices at all times
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A valid UK driving licence
Desirable
- CPCS Card Holder or equivalent
- Experience with specific brands and models of cranes in our fleet
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Experience directly as a Plant Fitter either in the hire industry or within the Plant Department of a construction company is preferred
