The Role
This role will focus on high-quality welding and fabrication work across a range of thin gauge materials. You will be working from engineering drawings, carrying out self-inspection of your work and ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG and TIG welding on thin gauge materials
- Weld and fabricate components using mild steel and stainless steel
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
- Carry out self-inspection and quality checks
- Report progress and any production issues to the Team Leader
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment
- Support continuous improvement activities within the department
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in MIG and TIG welding
- Experience working with thin gauge materials (approximately 0.9mm–10mm)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Good communication skills and team-focused attitude
- Sheet metal fabrication experience would be advantageous
