Plant Fitter

We are seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, repair, and preparation of a range of plant and equipment, ensuring assets are safe, compliant, and available for hire and sale.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, inspect, and repair mechanical and non‑mechanical plant and equipment.
• Prepare equipment for hire and sale, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and processed accurately.
• Complete maintenance records, service documentation, and system updates.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance both in the workshop and on customer sites.
• Diagnose faults and identify equipment requiring repair, replacement, or disposal.
• Support stock control activities, audits, and annual stock checks.
• Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping, and health & safety compliance.
• Work closely with operational teams to maximise equipment availability and utilisation.

Requirements

Essential

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter or similar role.
• Current CSCS card preferred.
• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance and Repairs or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical skills and fault‑finding ability.
• Computer literate with good attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Forklift licence.
• Experience within plant hire, construction, utilities, or related sectors.
