About the Role
Wolverhampton is seeking an Experienced Social Worker to join the Youth Justice Service (YJS) as a Case Manager. This is a short‑term opportunity suited to an experienced practitioner who can quickly integrate into a busy service and manage a caseload effectively.
A key element of this role will involve fulfilling the probation function within YJS, supporting children and young people as they transition from Youth Justice Services into the Probation Service. Due to the short‑term nature of the role, previous experience in Youth Justice or Probation is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and young people involved in the Youth Justice system.
- Complete assessments, intervention plans, and reviews in line with national Youth Justice standards.
- Support young people transitioning from YJS to the Probation Service.
- Work closely with partner agencies including probation, social care, education, and safeguarding services.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate case records in line with statutory requirements.
- Undertake community visits as required.
