Social Worker – Children and Families Hub, North Essex

Salary: £38,487 to £51,834 per annum

The Children and Families Hub is the single point of access for Children’s Social Care. The role reports directly to a Senior Practitioner and is a member of a large team of social workers and alternatively qualified staff. The postholder will deliver excellent social work practice, offer advice to professionals with safeguarding concerns for children, and undertake triage to establish ongoing role for children’s social care. The role is responsible for maintaining the highest standards in social work practice, working in accordance with defined legal frameworks, policy and procedures.
Skills and Knowledge
- Diploma or degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent.
- Registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker.
- Demonstrable capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards (e.g. Professional Capability Framework, Knowledge & Skills Statement).
- Case recording.
- Ability to apply social work knowledge, using emotional intelligence, analytical skills, and act with confidence in challenging social and family situations.
- Good working knowledge and ability to use information technology and related systems (e.g. Word, social work case recording systems).
- Required to work flexibly as needed, including evenings and weekends, and to be mobilised into fieldwork teams in emergency or contingency circumstances.
