We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and friendly to join the team at Bedford Central Library to help us deliver a high quality and welcoming service to a diverse range of customers.

You will be excellent at multitasking, have a proactive approach and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently. You will have excellent customer service skills and be able to use ICT competently and securely.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting customers with the self‑service system
  • Answering enquiries and providing ICT and digital support
  • Taking part in library activities
  • Carrying out day‑to‑day library routines such as carrying books, pushing trolleys, lifting boxes, walking and standing for long periods
  • Working at Bedford Central Library on a regular rota, covering Saturdays and Sundays and flexibly covering other local libraries if required
