Fixed Term Service Appointment – Neurology Registrar (STRH)
We invite applications for a 6‑month fixed‑term Service Appointment (FTSA) at the Registrar (STRH) level in the Department of Neurology, University Hospital of Wales.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside current specialist registrars and internal medicine trainees under consultant supervision.
- Manage the inpatient neurology ward and junior medical team.
- Run and participate in outpatient clinics and the day unit.
- Act as part of the out‑of‑hours resident on‑call rota (evenings only until 9:30 pm and weekend days).
- Gain exposure to the full range of acute and long‑term neurological conditions.
- Develop personal clinical interests or projects within departmental needs.
Competences and Qualifications
- Completed MRCP Part 2 and PACES, or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a neurology post is advantageous but not essential.
Working Hours
Evenings only until 9:30 pm and weekend days for on‑call rota.
Duration
6‑month fixed term: 5 August 2026 to 2 February 2027.
