Childrens Social Worker – Children with Disabilities Team

Herefordshire Council is seeking a dedicated Childrens Social Worker to join its Children with Disabilities Team – a single, close‑knit team comprising a Team Manager, two Managing Practitioners, a Senior Practitioner, Social Workers and Family Support Workers.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with children and young people who have a range of additional needs.
• Complete holistic assessments and coordinate multi‑agency support.
• Build trusting relationships with families and partners across health, education and social care.
• Apply a restorative, person‑centred approach, placing the child’s voice at the centre of all practice.
• Seek guidance from senior managers on complex cases.

Qualifications

• Registered with Social Work England.
• Hold a recognised social work qualification (Degree, DipSW or CQSW).

Benefits and Remuneration

Salary: £36,363-£40,777 per annum plus a £5,000 market rate supplement (effective range £41,363-£45,777), a £10,000 welcome payment, retention payments of £2,000-£4,000 and a relocation package of up to £10,000.
