Post Title: Social Worker (Justice)

Location: Blar Mhor Industrial Estate, Fort William

Hours: 35 hours Per Week

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £46,155 – £49,959 p.a. (Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.)

Purpose

  • Providing statutory reports for the Courts and Parole Board. Supervising, managing and working with individuals subject to statutory supervision in line with National Outcomes & Standards for Social Work Services in the Justice System (2010) to reduce reoffending, promote social inclusion and contribute to community safety and public protection.
  • To deliver the Caledonian System (CS) to male perpetrators of domestic abuse in accordance with the programme requirements.
  • To deliver the Moving Forward to Change Programme (MF2C) to male perpetrators of sexual offending in accordance with Programme Requirements.
  • Contribute to risk management & public protection.

Requirements

  • Register with the Scottish Social Services Council in the Social Worker’s part of the Register and hold a qualification recognised by the SSSC as equivalent to the Diploma of Social Work (DipSW).
  • Full driving licence.
  • As a regulated role, an Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required depending on nationality and recent residency history. The check is required if you are not a national of the UK or listed European countries, or if you have lived or worked abroad for 3 months or more in the past 5 years. You are responsible for obtaining the check and covering associated costs.
  • Prior to confirming appointment, successful candidates must become members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
