An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Through Care Team, working with Children in Care and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC).

This is a rewarding role focused on achieving permanence for children and young people through long-term fostering, progressing care and pathway plans, and supporting them through their journey into adulthood.

Key Responsibilities

As a Social Worker in the Through Care Team, you will:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 15 children and young people.
• Work with Children in Care and UASC to secure long-term stability and permanence.
• Progress care plans and pathway plans in line with statutory requirements.
• Support young people as they transition into adulthood and independent living.
• Undertake statutory visits, assessments, and care planning activities.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people, many of whom may have complex needs or immigration-related experiences.
• Work collaboratively with foster carers, residential providers, education services, health professionals, and partner agencies.
• Contribute to duty rota weeks every 5 weeks, ensuring timely response and support.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

• Experience working with Looked After Children (LAC) in a statutory social work setting.
• Willingness and ability to travel nationally to visit children and young people where required.
• Some experience working with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC).
• A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
