About the Role

Newham is looking for an experienced and committed Social Worker to join its Family Support and Safeguarding Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and families, delivering high-quality statutory interventions that safeguard children while supporting families to achieve positive, lasting change.

You’ll join a collaborative team committed to providing outstanding services and improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention.
• Undertake assessments, child protection enquiries, and planning to ensure children remain safe and their needs are met.
• Develop effective child-centred plans that promote positive outcomes and reduce risk.
• Complete statutory visits and reviews in accordance with legislative requirements.
• Work closely with children, parents, carers, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies.
• Prepare high-quality reports for Child Protection Conferences, Children in Need meetings, and court proceedings where required.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory guidance and organisational standards.
