Job Summary
One YMCA is seeking a Community Engagement & Volunteering Coordinator to support Family Centre services across local communities. You will work with the Community Engagement & Volunteering Lead and Locality Managers to identify community needs, develop volunteering opportunities, and ensure inclusive, high-quality services for families.
Responsibilities
- Identify gaps in local provision and support service development with partners
- Recruit, induct, train, and supervise volunteers (100+ hours/month)
- Develop volunteering, student, and work experience opportunities
- Track volunteer hours and produce reports (monthly/quarterly/annual)
- Support Family Centre operations (bookings, enquiries, risk assessments, checks)
- Deliver outreach and community pop-ups independently
- Work with partners to promote local learning and support opportunities
- Maintain local information points and attend multi-agency meetings
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience with volunteer coordination and community engagement
- Strong communication, IT (MS Office/CRM), and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage sensitive conversations
- Experience working to KPIs and service quality standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to vehicle
- Business insurance essential
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
- DBS check may be required
Working Hours
Part‑time role: 30 hours per week. Working pattern Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:30am‑4:30pm with a 30‑minute break. Wednesday is a non‑working day.
