The Opportunity
Halmer Recruit is currently recruiting Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our client on a temporary ongoing basis in the Kingston area. This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and hardworking individuals looking for regular weekday work with an ASAP start.
Working Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm (30-minute lunch break), you will be paid £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay).
You will be working as part of a professional grounds maintenance team, maintaining a variety of commercial and public sector sites, including universities, schools, hospitals and care homes. Two days are the same, with a range of ground maintenance tasks carried out to ensure outdoor spaces are kept safe, tidy and well presented.
Key Responsibilities
- Grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on mowers
- Strimming, edging and lawn maintenance
- Hedge cutting and pruning
- Weeding, planting and mulching
- Leaf clearance and litter picking
- Shrub and flower bed maintenance
- General grounds maintenance across multiple sites
- Loading and unloading tools and equipment
- Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment checks
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
- Delivering a high standard of work across all sites
Requirements
- Previous grounds maintenance, landscaping or horticultural experience
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Valid DBS certificate (essential)
- Level 2 Horticulture qualification (essential)
- Good plant knowledge (essential)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good understanding of ground maintenance equipment
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
