£15.33 per hour + holiday pay

Our client

Morgan Hunt is working with a homelessness charity that provides accommodation and day support services to people who are homeless or in housing need. They provide a safe environment where people can develop their skills and independence to empower change.

We are looking to recruit a Housing Support Worker across their supported housing services in Oldham. This is a full time post working 37 hours per week and is a temporary role. Working hours are Wednesday – Friday 12:00 – 20:00 and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 – 16:00.

The role

  • Encourage and assist service users, via support plans, to develop themselves and their independence within the service or by moving on.
  • Work in consultation with other member of the staff team and liaise with staff of other projects.
  • Ensure the upkeep and security of the building and take responsibility for any cash and equipment under your control.
  • Carry out regular key-working sessions with service users at agreed intervals, meet their individual needs and keep comprehensive records of all contacts.
  • Issue warnings and take appropriate action to promote the health, safety and welfare of all service users in line with policy and procedures.
  • Support individuals in a trauma-informed and solution-focused way that promotes resilience.
  • Maintain appropriate records including case notes, support plans, financial and administrative records.

The candidate

  • Experience supporting those experiencing homelessness and/or other vulnerabilities such as poor mental health, substance misuse, or offending behaviour.
  • Flexible approach to work as you will be required to work between projects where needed.
  • Experience of lone working within an accommodation-based service.
  • Experience of managing a caseload, completing assessments and support plans to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and what to do if any safeguarding concerns arise.
  • Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service as a Project Worker.
