Salary: £46,620 per annum (includes regional uplift and car allowance).
Location: Hybrid, Camberley and surrounding areas with occasional travel to Ashford, Kent.Permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday 9 am to 5 pm plus on‑call as required.
About The Role
As a Maintenance Surveyor you will deliver repairs and voids maintenance services for properties in your patch. The role combines site visits and desk‑based work. You will visit customer homes to assess repair needs using your knowledge of domestic buildings, HHSRS and schedule of rates, raise repairs in the Housing Management System, and update the customer account through to completion. You will uphold Empty Homes (Voids) standards to provide first‑class quality homes quickly, and address hazards such as damp and mould in line with Awaab’s Law to protect customer wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on‑site assessments and identify repair and void needs.
- Quantify repairs using building legislation, HHSRS and schedule of rates.
- Enter and manage repair records in the bespoke Housing Management System.
- Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Improve service efficiency and customer experience.
Salary
The spot salary for the Maintenance Surveyor post is £42,009 per annum for candidates fully meeting the requirements. Applicants developing skills may start 5 %‑10 % below the spot rate with progression to the full amount. An additional 8 % regional uplift (£3,361) and a user car allowance starting at £1,250 per annum are also included.
About You
You should possess an HNC in Building (or equivalent) or relevant maintenance/construction experience, and a strong understanding of building design, fabric, lifecycles, contract performance, and budget management. You will have a customer‑focused mindset, excellent communication, the ability to interpret building legislation, and proficiency with operational property‑management software. A full UK driving licence and vehicle access are required for site travel.
