Overview

Axcis Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist school supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex additional needs. This role offers an opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people. No previous school experience is required; career changers with transferable skills and a passion for supporting others are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with PMLD and complex needs throughout the school day.
  • Assist with personalised learning activities tailored to each student’s abilities.
  • Support communication using visual aids and communication devices.
  • Provide personal care and assist with moving and handling where required (full training provided).
  • Encourage independence, social interaction and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and families to provide the best possible support.

  • Backgrounds that may be relevant: care or support work, healthcare or nursing, residential care, early years, sports coaching, youth work, hospitality, retail and customer service, community or voluntary work.
