Job Overview

The HR Support Assistant will support the recruitment and onboarding of volunteers and team members across the organization. This role helps ensure a smooth, efficient, and well‑organised recruitment process, contributing to strong team capacity and the effective delivery of our services.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with posting volunteer and team vacancy advertisements.
  • Screen applications and shortlist suitable candidates.
  • Coordinate interview schedules with hiring managers.
  • Conduct initial screening calls (where assigned).
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruitment records.
  • Support the onboarding process, including preparing documentation and arranging system access.
  • Ensure new volunteers receive SOPs, induction materials, and onboarding information.
  • Follow established recruitment procedures and workflows.
  • Prepare and submit weekly recruitment reports to the HR Team Supervisor.

Qualifications and Preferences

  • Minimum high school education (college or university‑level education preferred).
  • Previous experience in HR, recruitment, administration, or coordination is desirable but not essential.
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets) or similar software.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 12 volunteer hours per week.

Organization Overview

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton that supports, empowers, and advocates for women and children. Our mission is to empower women to become more self‑reliant by helping them identify their own needs, make informed choices, and create positive solutions for themselves and their families.

We provide a range of community services, including a charity shop, family support programmes, and our flagship Wolverhampton Baby Bank. The Baby Bank supports families with children aged 0‑3 by providing donated essential items and practical assistance, including:

  • Nappies
  • Wipes
  • Clothing
  • Bedding
  • Toys
  • Other baby essentials

We also offer support services for new and expectant parents, such as drop‑in groups and befriending services, and we provide referrals and signposting to additional local services and community resources.
