Job Overview

Community Ranger (Shropshire Hills) – Forestry England. Salary: £30,105 full‑time equivalent. Contract: Permanent. Hours: 29.6 per week. Vacancy closes: Tuesday 7 July, 23:58.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and facilitate access to recreation facilities for the local community.
  • Engage with opportunities to generate income and answer community enquiries, strengthening community connections and communications.
  • Build meaningful relationships and volunteer involvement to enhance visitor experience.

Where you’ll work

The West Forest District team custodians 38,500 ha of the National Forests in the west and south‑west of England. The role sits within the Shropshire Hills beat and is based out of our Ludlow office, over four days per week.
