About the role
This role requires a high standard of assembly work within a precision manufacturing environment of electro‑mechanical safety equipment. The suitable candidate should be a competent individual within electro‑mechanical production, test/repair environment or relevant manufacturing experience. Maintain a high quality of work, fully cooperating with the Manufacturing team and adhering to work procedures. Perform assembly of electro‑mechanical products, performing appropriate product tests and packing/dispatch of completed products. Be flexible in supporting other site functions where necessary, including Logistics and Repair departments.
Responsibilities
- Potting assemblies for temperature control conditioning to comply with EX standards.
- Assembling PCBs into metal housings.
- Light mechanical assembly.
- Computer‑aided testing of various electronic assemblies.
- Visual inspection of PCB’s.
- Packing and dispatch.
- Advise Production Supervisor of parts shortages, quality, and other production issues.
- Comply with the Health & Safety Policy and observe all the safety rules to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others. Report unsafe conditions or actions to the Production Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Able to identify/root cause minor electronic faults and fix working with production technician or quality coordinator.
- Able to explain common electronics faults and how to avoid issues during normal manufacturing.

- Large team working within a fast‑paced, busy manufacturing environment.
Education and Qualifications
- Secondary school (GCSE) or equivalent, or relevant job experience.
Experience
- Knowledge and ability in meeting precise electronics standards of work (soldering, ESD control) is desirable.
- Have the electronic technical aptitude to evaluate product failures or changes in product characteristics.
- ‘Can do’ attitude and will ensure tasks are completed.
- PC skills and user knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely at varying levels.
- Able to work well within a team or on own.
Skills and Competencies
- Good quality of work and proven ability in light mechanical assembly. Soldering and electronics assembly would be preferred.
