Overview

We are looking for Learning Support Assistants to join our enthusiastic ALN team based on Bridgend and Pencoed campuses. You will provide personalised learning support and personal care (as required) to students with ALN, helping to remove learning barriers across all Bridgend College campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised learning support and personal care to students with ALN, tailored to individual needs.
  • Support students in developing skills, confidence and understanding to progress in learning and increase independence.
  • Offer practical assistance, notetaking, reading support, prompting/scribing, and other note‑taking aid.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum grade C in Maths and English or Welsh.
  • Relevant Level 2 qualification.
  • Experience working with people with additional learning needs or physical disabilities.
  • Good IT, communication and notetaking skills; prepared for flexible working.
  • Registration as an FE Learning Support worker with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) before start.

Other Requirements

  • Satisfactory/enhanced DBS disclosure for child and adult workforce.
  • Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the UK (right to work).

Salary

Term time only: £13,581 per annum (based on 36.6 weeks of the academic year). Salary will be based on the number of weeks worked during the academic year.
