Position: Youth Support WorkerLocation: Hemel HempsteadSalary: £25,857 per annumHours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Role
You will be part of a compassionate, values-driven team that works collaboratively with social workers, local authorities, and other professionals to create a safe, inclusive environment where every young person feels respected and supported. Your role will involve:
- Helping young people develop life skills and confidence
- Supporting access to education, training, and employment
- Building trusting relationships and offering compassionate guidance
- Responding to challenges and contributing to safeguarding plans
Shifts
This is a 24-hour rota role, where staff remain on site throughout the entire shift, including an overnight sleep-in period. Shifts include evenings, overnight cover, weekends, and early mornings, with sleep-in payments of £52.78 per night.
- 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm
- Sleep in 10:30 pm – 7:30 am
- 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
About You
You will be empathetic, resilient, and committed to making a difference. A full UK driving licence with business insurance and access to a vehicle is essential, as you may need to transport young people.
- You must commit to starting a Level 4 or equivalent Children, Young People & Families Practitioner Workforce Diploma within one year of joining.
- You must sign up to the DBS Update Service.
