Primary Teaching Assistant Location: BANES. Salary: £93 – £100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications). Start Date: September 2026.
About the Role
Connex Education is working exclusively with a well-respected Multi Academy Trust supporting a range of primary schools across BANES, including Radstock, Midsomer Norton, and Chew Magna. We are recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Primary Teaching Assistants to support schools on a day‑to‑day supply basis as well as short‑ and long‑term placements starting September 2026. These rewarding roles will involve working across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing general classroom support alongside targeted 1:1 and small group interventions depending on the needs of each school. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children’s learning, development, and confidence within a positive school environment.

Person Specification
- Experience working with children aged 4-11 in a UK primary school setting.
- Strong communication and positive behaviour management skills.
- Good understanding of classroom routines and the primary curriculum.
- Knowledge of Phonics and Read, Write Inc. is desirable.
- Organised, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning.
- Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable but not required.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Connex Education.
- Right to work in the UK.
