An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Social Work Assistant in the Disabled Children’s Team East within the Strengthening Independence Service. The team comprises Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, Social Work Assistants and Occupational Therapists.
Responsibilities
Assess the needs of disabled children and young people aged 0-17, support Social Workers, manage an allocated caseload, work closely with Disabled Young People’s Social Work teams and other key agencies such as Health, Education and the voluntary sector, receive extensive training and development, obtain regular supervision, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experience in Children’s Services (essential), a full UK Driving Licence (required, but applications will be considered if unable to drive due to disability), and command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
Requirements
Hybrid working model with a combination of home and office, ability to work flexibly across the large geographical area covered by the team, Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service, statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
