Overview

Join Sodexo as a Weekend Cook within our National Probation Service Approved Premises in Carlisle City Centre. This position offers flexible weekend work, additional income, and a role that can fit around other commitments. You will work independently, preparing fresh, nutritious meals that support residents and staff in rebuilding their lives within the community.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve fresh, high‑standard meals.
• Take ownership of the kitchen during weekend shifts, managing food preparation confidently.
• Deliver an excellent dining experience while maintaining exceptional food quality.
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and Environmental Health regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef within catering, hospitality, or food service.
• Relevant culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery (desirable).
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety practices (IOSH qualification desirable).
• Genuine passion for preparing quality meals with excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Benefits and Pay

• Saturday & Sunday only: 12:00pm – 6:00pm.
• £12.91 per hour.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over and be able to provide valid photographic identification.
