Are you fluent in British Sign Language (BSL) and looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference every single day? Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a fantastic primary school in Peterborough to recruit a compassionate and dedicated BSL Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil who is Deaf.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day using British Sign Language (BSL).
- Adapt learning activities to ensure the pupil can fully engage in lessons.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive communication.
- Support the pupil’s academic, social and emotional development.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school staff to deliver the best possible outcomes.
- Help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience using BSL in an educational or professional setting.
- Has previous experience supporting children, ideally within a primary or SEND environment.
- Is patient, empathetic and passionate about inclusive education.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Wants to make a meaningful impact on a child’s learning and development.
