Pay: 140 – 200 per day (PAYE or Umbrella) dependent on Experience
The Role
A specialist SEMH provision in M5, Salford is seeking a passionate, resilient, and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join the team from September on a full-time, long-term basis for the entire academic year.
The successful SEMH Teacher will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment where pupils can develop academically, emotionally, and socially whilst receiving the consistent support they need to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons across a broad and accessible curriculum.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage pupil engagement and progress.
- Differentiate learning to meet a wide range of individual needs and learning styles.
- Support pupils with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, behavioural needs and additional SEND.
- Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to support pupils effectively.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, pastoral teams and external professionals.
- Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to maximise learning outcomes.
- Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom where every pupil can thrive.
SEMH Teacher Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Previous experience working as an SEMH Teacher, SEND Teacher or within an Alternative Provision is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Excellent understanding of SEMH, trauma-informed practice and differentiated teaching.
- Patient, resilient, and compassionate approach.
- Ability to inspire, motivate and build excellent relationships with young people.
- Genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to education and reach their potential.
