EIAT is a thriving Multi Academy Trust in North Birmingham, incorporating Wilson Stuart School, Mayfield School, Queensbury School, The Hive College, Lime Tree Nursery and Blue Sky Nursery. The Trust values creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement. Queensbury School, a specialist provision for students aged 11-19, seeks a Design & Technology Teacher to support creative and practical learning within our educational setting.
Responsibilities
- Teach practical lessons that combine design thinking, creativity and technical skills.
- Guide students through project stages from research and planning to final production.
- Support the safe and responsible use of tools, materials and equipment.
- Encourage students to test ideas, solve problems and improve their work.
- Provide feedback that helps students develop both practical and written outcomes.
- Maintain an organised learning space that supports focused practical work.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience delivering Design & Technology lessons in classroom settings.
- Strong understanding of design processes, materials and practical techniques.
- Ability to manage practical activities safely and confidently.
- Good communication, planning and organisational skills.
- This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement of the role.
