Teaching Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, professional Teaching Assistant who understands the learning and pastoral needs of primary children. The role will supervise and support pupils in the learning environment while assisting the teacher with the implementation of pupil education at Cranford. Our focus is upon the whole child and we work collaboratively with the whole school community to ensure all children achieve well, are happy, and make lifelong memories.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support pupils in the learning environment.
• Assist the teacher with the implementation of pupil education.
• Create a purposeful, orderly, and supportive learning environment.
• Support the teacher in management of pupil behaviour and tackle challenging behaviour following the school’s Behaviour Policy.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow the school’s Code of Conduct.

Qualifications & Mandatory Requirements

• Must be enthusiastic, approachable, and friendly, ensuring all children feel safe, happy, and able to learn.
• Support the ethos of a Church and Trust school.
• Understand the children and the community with ability to build supportive and respectful relationships with children.
• Must undertake appropriate CPD, including First Aid training and annual Safeguarding / Child Protection training.
• Commit to safeguarding of children’s welfare, both at home and in school.
• Prepared to adhere to the school’s Behaviour Policy and Code of Conduct.
