Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales
Salary: £92.59 per day (minimum)
An enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant is needed to support learners in a Secondary Pupil Referral Service in Aberdare. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to make a positive impact on students with SEMH, SEBD, and EBD. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, with strong behaviour management skills, ready to hit the ground running from day one. The SEN Teaching Assistant role in Aberdare provides a rewarding environment where you can support Key Stage 3 and 4 students across a variety of settings, including one‑to‑one, small groups, and whole classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support classroom activities for learners in Key Stage 3 and 4
- Prepare classrooms and assist with lesson delivery based on teacher plans
- Maintain classroom control and manage behaviour effectively
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing daily requirements
- Work in accordance with the school’s behaviour management policies
Requirements
- At least 3 months experience working with children, preferably with SEMH, SEBD, or EBD
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – support available to assist with registration
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- References covering the last two years (with no gaps)
- Right to work in the UK
