Position Overview

Role: Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Kirklees – WF12

Contract Type: Fixed Term – Part Time

Start Date: September 2026

End Date: December 2026

Responsibilities

• Providing 1-1 support, ensuring pupils’ needs are met in line with their individual learning plans and following EHCPs
• Adapting learning materials to suit individual needs
• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
• Helping to maintain an organised classroom and preparing resources for lessons
• Promoting inclusion and ensuring all students feel valued and supported

Ideal Candidate

• Experienced working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary setting
• Displays a patient, caring and empathetic approach
• Reliable, supportive and able to work successfully as part of a team
• Strong communication skills
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
