Join the team at Rhodes Wood Hospital School as a Teaching Assistant and support the delivery of education to residents with eating disorders, helping build a brighter future.
You will work at the on‑site school in Hatfield, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver educational services to young people in our care.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in designing and delivering classroom lessons.
- Prepare lessons and ensure the classroom has all required materials.
- Encourage pupil engagement and support learning, behaviour and social skills progression.
- Build rapport with the cohort, fostering creative and supportive learning environments.
- Identify and implement interventions to help students engage in lessons and make progress.
- Adapt support to meet the individual needs of each young person, including those with eating disorders.
Qualifications
- Education‑related qualification.
- Previous experience working with children in a school setting.
- Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
- Experience with young people with SEMH needs and/or SEN.
- Ability to identify and implement interventions that promote student engagement.
- Resilience, flexibility, and adaptability to meet varying needs.
- Strong empathy and ability to engage professionally with young people.
- All candidates will be subject to a DBS disclosure.
