Salary: NJC Grade E: £30,518 – £33,699 FTE (This will be paid pro‑rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)
Please note that the pro‑rata salary for this role is between £7,063 (E16) and £7,799 (E22) gross per annum (subject to change depending on agreed working pattern on appointment)
Working Pattern: This is a fixed term position working 10 hours per week, 39 weeks per year until 31st August 2027.
Normal working hours will be Friday 9:30am – 3:30pm and two afternoons 1:15pm-3:30pm, to be confirmed at interview.
About the Role
Working under an agreed system of supervision, you will:
- Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes
- Support teachers by helping create an engaging learning environment and preparing resources
- Monitor, assess and record pupils’ progress, providing detailed feedback and evidence
- Lead small‑group interventions and support delivery of literacy, numeracy and other curriculum strategies
- Contribute to out‑of‑school learning activities as required
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can bring compassion and commitment to the role.
Essential qualities include
- Experience working with children across key stages
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor delivering whole‑class activities
- English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or equivalent
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous HLTA experience
- Willingness to undertake relevant training
- First Aid qualification
- Awareness of health and safety practices
