Job Overview
We’re currently looking for a Gardener to maintain a large site of mature gardens, wildflower meadow areas and a Bowling Green within our village. You can count on a thorough induction followed by ongoing training and development, including access to apprenticeships and online learning resources.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Previous gardening, grounds maintenance, horticultural or landscaping experience is essential.
- Good knowledge of plant care, lawn maintenance, pruning, and seasonal gardening tasks.
- Experience using gardening and grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Basic maintenance skills, including fence repairs, painting, and general outdoor upkeep.
- Proactive and practical approach, with pride in maintaining attractive, safe, and welcoming outdoor spaces.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering excellent service to residents.
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed
Friendly and approachable, passionate about gardening, keen eye for detail. NVQ in Horticulture is a plus. Comfortable with safe use of chemicals under COSHH regulations. Adaptable, organised, and happy working as part of a team, supporting the maintenance team as required.
DBS check required as part of the recruitment process. Bupa will cover the cost (£40).
