The school is seeking an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant for KS2. The role will be for a minimum of 27 hours a week and may also include lunch duties. The role is varied and will involve working with children on a one-to-one basis and within small groups.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, SENCO and class teachers.
- Attend to pupils’ personal needs, including social, health, hygiene, first-aid and welfare matters.
- Prepare classrooms, clear afterwards and assist with the display of pupils’ work.
- Provide clerical and administrative support, e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, collecting money, record keeping.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of learning activities.
- Accompany teachers and pupils on out-of-school activities and take responsibility for a group under the direction of a teacher.
- Undertake playground duties.
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure that pupils have equality of access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection; and report all concerns to an appropriate person.
- Contribute to and support the overall aims and ethos of the school, participating in training, learning activities, performance management and development as required by the school’s policies and practice.
- Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.

- Experience of working with children.
- Highly organised, able to prioritise, with good attention to detail.
- Self‑motivated, tenacious and flexible.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
