Join the Future of Transport with DigiGo! Are you ready to embark on a journey into the future of public transport? DigiGo, Essex’s premier on‑demand shared public transport service, is looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team of DigiGo Drivers. We are recruiting for a full‑time Driver to work a day shift (Start and finish times to be confirmed, 37hrs) Monday to Friday on a 1‑year fixed‑term contract.

What You’ll Do
- Fulfil a vital role in high-profile schemes, providing a personable, dependable, and friendly transport service.
- Drive our brand new, electric minibuses, contributing to a sustainable future.
- Get to know your passengers—from students to commuters, older individuals, and those with disabilities.
- Navigate through diverse landscapes, from suburban areas to scenic rural Essex countryside.
What We’re Looking For
- Hold a valid driving licence with a D1 entitlement—essential for the role.
- Experience working with diverse customer backgrounds and needs.
- Adaptable and flexible with a calm and professional approach.
- Ability to work in a timely manner.
- Proficient in using smartphones and/or tablets.
- Ability to follow navigation and other instructions from the digital app.
- Excellent communication and social skills in a customer‑based setting.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS checks.
- Training in the use of a specific digital app that is integral to the service.
- Mandatory training, including Midas.
- Undertake an Essex County Council Driver’s assessment.

Additional Information
As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC) should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate. This is an annual subscription, and you will be responsible for ensuring this is maintained. For further information on the DBS update service please go to https://www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service.
The role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
