Park Apprentice – Level 2 Horticulture / Landscape Construction Operative
An exciting opportunity in the Environmental Services department of Stoke‑on‑Trent City Council.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance, cleanliness and presentation of local parks.
- Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, litter collection and general upkeep using a range of tools and equipment.
- Engage with the public, providing information about the parks and promoting responsible use.
- Support community events, completing basic administrative tasks and working closely with the wider Parks Team.
- Complete the apprenticeship program, attending training, completing coursework and developing a work‑based portfolio.
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 2 Horticulture or Landscape Construction Operative apprenticeship (typically 24 months).
- Minimum Level 1 Maths or English qualifications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiastic and able to work as part of a team.
