Job Title: Minibus Driver

Location: Walsall

We are looking for a Minibus Driver to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a reliable safe service to children and staff for educational visits, sporting activities and extended school visits, ensuring each passenger is comfortably and securely seated and wheelchairs are secured if necessary.
  • Undertake routine maintenance on the minibus, e.g. checking water, tyre pressures, oil, mirrors and windows.
  • Ensure the minibus is left clean and tidy and adequately fuelled for each journey.
  • Collect and drop off students, in particular students with SEND, at designated locations and times and liaise with the Passenger Assistant to maintain professional relationships.
  • Record and monitor mileage and any faults before and after every trip; report accidents or incidents to the Senior Leadership Team and complete appropriate paperwork and written reports.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of staff and service users by complying with Health and Safety Regulations and safe working practices.
  • Check the first aid box, ensure contents are dated and replenished regularly; make sure bus signs are properly attached and in good condition.
  • Perform other duties as allocated from time to time and comply with relevant school policies and procedures.
  • Undertake training appropriate to the post as required.

Pay range: Grade 3 Scale Point 4 – 6

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

  • Full, clean UK driving licence suitable for minibus driving.
  • Willingness to undergo occupational medical assessment.

Desirable

  • Driving licence D1 category (if not, we will provide the necessary mini bus training).
  • Relevant transport or passenger safety training.
