Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £14.18 an hour; this increases to £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with an option for as few as 12 hours.
The availability windows above outline the times we’d like you to work. Your contracted hours will be scheduled within these windows and you will receive 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. We are happy to support flexibility, so if your available times closely match but are not identical to the advertised windows we may still consider you.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the van and trays are clean and kept tidy/organised.
- Leaving the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and picking up litter as seen.
- Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
- Loading the van as required and checking the van for roadworthiness.
- Talking to the customer about any changes to their order, including short‑code items and substitutions, and offering a refund for any issues.
- Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
- Explaining to the customer that they will not be charged further for their substitutions.
- Delivering during the customers’ time slot.
- Calling the customer before arriving at their property if arriving early.
- Calling the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
- Building relationships with colleagues to create team spirit.
- Being warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say “Thank you.”
- Acting quickly to respond to the changing needs of our customers and embracing change within the store.
- Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work.
- Sharing ideas with your Manager and other colleagues on how we can improve the store for customers.
Qualifications
- UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Ability to adhere to GB Domestic Driving Rules.
