Female Personal Care Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated carer to assist the patient with morning and evening routines, including washing, dressing, and using a gantry hoist to safely transfer the patient.

Responsibilities

• Assist with getting out of bed using the gantry hoist (required to be operated by two carers for safety).
• Provide support with dressing and washing during the morning routine.
• Assist with the night routine, including getting into bed, dressing, washing, and personal care.
• Help with driving responsibilities if not local to Crownhill.
• Assist with PEG feeding and catheter care, if required (training can be arranged).
• Maintain manual handling protocol and ensure use of an up‑to‑date manual handling certificate.
• Support the patient during flexible shifts, covering holidays and sickness of other carers as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience using a gantry hoist and commode.
• Up‑to‑date manual handling certificate.
• Experience or willingness to learn PEG feeding training.
• Knowledge of catheter care.
• Possession of a driving licence (if not local to Crownhill).
• Sense of humour and supportive attitude.
• Female applicant preferred due to the nature of duties.

Shift Details

Flexible morning shifts: 09:00 – 10:30. Evening shifts: 21:30 – 23:00. Predominantly evening shifts Mon‑Sun and Saturday‑Sunday mornings. Availability to cover other shifts for holiday/sickness. Shift schedule may be discussed during interview; flexibility is considered.
