Maintenance Engineer Location: On-site, PortsmouthSalary: £36,000-£45,000Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:00 (40 hours, day shift)Contract: PermanentOvertime: Available, subject to business demandAbout the Role We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliable, safe and efficient operation of production equipment, CNC machinery and facility infrastructure. You will play a key role in supporting continuous production by managing planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults and driving improvements that reduce downtime and enhance machine reliability.This is a new standalone position, giving you the opportunity to develop processes, influence best practice and make a significant impact within a growing engineering environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedulesDiagnose faults quickly to minimise unplanned downtimeCarry out corrective maintenance, including part replacements and adjustmentsMonitor machine performance and identify reliability improvement opportunitiesSupport optimisation projects, machine upgrades and tooling improvementsWork with production teams to address recurring issuesMaintain accurate service logs, maintenance records and documentationEnsure all maintenance activities comply with site quality and ISO standardsSupport audits by providing required maintenance evidenceManage external contractors and ensure RAMS are in placeOversee installation and commissioning of new equipmentPerform weekly fire alarm checksPromote strong safety culture and contribute to H&S activitiesAct as the main point of contact for external maintenance contractorsWhat We’re Looking For Experience & Technical SkillsMaintenance Engineering experience within precision engineering, machining or similar environmentsStrong mechanical and electrical skills;
