The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a warehouse / store supervisor for our busy client based in Charlton.
This is an ongoing contract until 31st December 2026, with the possibility of being extended.
Hours of work will be 07:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday
Pay is £16 per hour.
We are seeking an organised, proactive, and hands-on Store Supervisor to support the day-to-day operation of our store. You will lead by example, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient store operations, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the smooth and efficient running of the store and achievement of operational targets.
- Supervise customer service, sales, quotations, invoicing, purchasing, product sourcing, and material handling activities.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, including onboarding new customers and supporting key account growth.
- Lead, coach, and motivate store staff, setting clear performance expectations and providing training and feedback.
- Manage staff schedules, holidays, and overtime to meet operational needs.
- Oversee inventory control, stock management, and accurate record keeping.
- Assist with purchasing activities, store expenses, and resource management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and maintain company vehicles and equipment.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse, trade counter, or similar environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience in stock management and daily store operations.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, solve problems, and make decisions independently.
- Current Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
- Full Category B Manual Driving Licence.
- Computer literate, including MS Office, with strong numerical skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Desirable
- Trade counter experience.
- First Aid at Work Certificate.
