All about the role:

Whitesheet C of E Primary Academy is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant (Term-time only) to join our friendly and supportive team on a maternity cover basis. The role is for 30 hours a week (0.68 FTE) and will be paid under grade DSAT2 to 3 (scale point 4-8) depending on experience. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children aged 4 to 11 years within our small, nurturing countryside school.The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils academic, social, and emotional development, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment in line with our Christian values.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learningWork with individuals and small groups of pupils across the primary age range (411 years)Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and activitiesProvide support for pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND where requiredPromote positive behaviour and uphold the schools values and ethosHelp maintain a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for all pupilsSupervise pupils during lessons, break times, and other school activitiesContribute to monitoring and reporting on pupil progressPerson Specification:EssentialA patient, caring, and positive approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to build supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and familiesGood literacy and numeracy skillsCommitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenDesirable:Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3)Experience supporting pupils with additional or special educational needsUnderstanding of the primary curriculumExperience of working with children (preferably aged 411) in a school or similar setting
