Job Summary
The Principal Data Analyst role sits within the Business Intelligence (BI) Team, leading the development and delivery of high‑quality business intelligence and performance reporting across the Trust. The role ensures that complex data is transformed into meaningful insights to support decision‑making, performance monitoring, and service improvement.
They will focus mainly on Costing and Productivity deliverables within the BI portfolio, contributing to the development of these and other procedures, and proposing and implementing changes to policies and procedures related to their work area.
They will build good working relationships with clinical services and other stakeholders and provide expert input to projects. High‑quality products are created to deadlines, with appropriate escalation when issues arise.
The post‑holder will contribute to all regular reporting processes, develop automated processes to minimise manual effort, and respond to ad‑hoc information requests.
They will embed processes to improve data quality and may suggest developments to the clinical information systems used by the Trust to ensure appropriate and accurate data is collected.
This is a senior analytical and leadership role focused on delivering strategic business intelligence, improving data quality, and enabling informed decision‑making across the Trust.
Your main duties will be to support the Costing and Productivity requirements, presenting information to managers and services in a format that is easily understood. This will involve analysing, interpreting and presenting complex and sensitive data. Primarily using SSMS and Power BI to deploy data reports and dashboards for internal use.
You will plan, develop and coordinate the production of complex performance reports that meet the needs of directorates, clinical teams, commissioners and users, in accordance with the Trust’s planning schedule.
The role is fixed‑term for 12 months.
