About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Permanent Watch Manager to join the Academy as Training Delivery Instructor, based at our Exeter Airport Training Academy. There will be an expectation for the appointed individual to remain in any permanent role for a minimum of 12 months, unless a promotion is obtained. This position is aligned to the day duty system (DDS) and will attract a 12% training allowance, payable following a period of development in post. The post will be focused primarily on Breathing Apparatus and to support Maritime training delivery. Where required there will be the need to support training delivery at Severn Park and other locations across the Service. The role will require you to develop and maintain, through continuous professional development (CPD), your ability to deliver. You will be expected to ensure training materials are current and compliant with National Operational Guidance. You will need to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both orally and in writing, including preparing reports and evaluations, giving presentations and leading training sessions.

- Acquire and maintain the ability to deliver all courses across the Academy.
- Implement effective training and development activities.
- Be highly motivated, self-driven and able to work without supervision.
- Be willing to work flexibly to meet the commitments of the Training Academy.
- Perform other duties appropriate to the post and within the context of the National Occupational Standard Role Map for a Watch Manager.
Expressions of Interest
Expressions of interest are invited from suitably experienced and qualified Crew Managers and Watch Managers.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a competent, substantive Crew Manager and have been successful in the Watch Manager promotion board or be a substantive whole‑time Watch Manager.
- Qualified L1 IC S and not subject to formal performance improvement actions, nor have any live disciplinary sanctions.
- Breathing Apparatus Instructor (BAI), Compartment Fire Behaviour Training Instructor (CFBTI), Adult Education Trainer (AET) or equivalent.
